Stress and anxiety are a common part of our everyday lives. When they consume our minds, they can begin to hinder our emotional and physical well being and essentially take over our lives. Since each person's situation is unique, my treatment approach involves collaborating with my patients to build a personalized plan that will be most effective in helping face and ultimately conquer these challenges.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Northern New Jersey. I provide strategies and skills to adults and adolescents for a broad range of issues within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I specialize in helping people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) including Pure-Obsessional OCD.
ABOUT DR. LEVY
I am the Co-Director and Founder of North Jersey Psychology Associates which is a private practice that specializes in the treatment of OCD and Anxiety Disorders. I currently lead a team of accomplished professionals who also specialize in treating OCD and Anxiety Disorders. Those who join my practice receive intensive training and are either currently supervised by me or were previously supervised by me.
Prior to starting my own private practice in 2017, I had received extensive training from a world-renowned expert in the treatment of OCD at the esteemed Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy. In addition to providing high quality psychological services to many individuals at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, I previously established an innovative online OCD support group and was fortunate to co-found a comprehensive intensive treatment program for individuals with OCD.
My pre-doctoral internship experience concentrated on working primarily with children and adolescents facing a variety of challenges. Child-focused treatment took place in home-based and in-school environments. During this time, I delivered effective individual and family therapy and conducted comprehensive cognitive and personality evaluations.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Hofstra University during which I produced research in the field of relationships, sexual behavior and sexual dysfunction. I have presented my research at national and international conferences. While the majority of my time is devoted to providing therapy and running my practice, I am also currently functioning as the Vice President of OCD New Jersey. I work within a behavioral framework which is goal-directed, skills-focused and solution-oriented. I believe in fostering self-change by allying with individuals and creating a supportive relationship in order for those I collaborate with to reach their potential. The application of skills within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, aligned with a compassionate, trusting relationship is at the core of successful therapy outcomes.
